Why us
New Zealand throws away good food at every step between the orchard and the plate, and the further it travels, the more we lose. ZEDLAB was founded in Hawke's Bay by people who grew up around growers, packhouses, and the business of shipping fruit to the far side of the world, and who now bring food science, materials, and engineering to the problem. We know what gets lost, where it gets lost, and what it takes to stop it.
FROM THE FOUNDERS
A year of work goes into fruit before it's picked. A third of it never gets eaten. The industry absorbs that loss. We are here to end it.
